Welcome Home!

It's been two weeks since I was adopted by my new forever family. My first day home I was introduced to my canine brother (Bear) and sister (Cricket). I liked Bear a lot! He's big like me and we can play together. Cricket is old and has trouble walking. Mommy says I have to be "gentle" with her. I'm working on this. I also met my human daddy and brother. They like me a lot, just like my human sisters!

The adoption place didn't know a lot about my background so they told my mommy that I wasn't housebroken and liked to stay outside. That I would need to be taught some manners and how to be a good neighbor since I came from an area that is mostly sheep and cattle farms.

The first couple of days were hectic, there was a lot to do! I went to see my new doctor, Dr. Kelly, and she looked at my sores and told my mommy that they would need to be cleaned out and the June grass removed. Then she gave me my first shots and said that I should come back in five days to have my surgery. Dr. Kelly also said that I needed to get some good food in me as I was under weight and my hip bones were sticking out.

So I went home and my family feed me yummy food and made sure I had plenty of fresh, clean water. They gave me lots of love, my very own fun toys and I even got treats! So I made extra sure that I was a good boy! And guess what? I AM housebroken! No accidents for me! And I LOVE sleeping in the house with my family! I'm not food aggressive. I love people of all sizes and kitties are okay too! I can't sit on command but we're working on "wait", "stay" and "down". But mommy says I'm still a puppy so there is plenty of time to learn.

I went to see Dr. Kelly and she removed all of my stickers. I didn't feel too good when I got home but my family sat with me and made sure that I had whatever I needed. By 4:30 a.m. I was feeling really good! And they were very happy about that!

Now it's a week later and I've put on weight, my fur is growing back (they had to shave me because of all the June grass). Now my mommy tells me that I am to have two more adventures very soon: one is called a visit to the "groomer" and the other is "camping". I'm not sure what those are but I'm sure that my forever family will be there with me the whole way!
